Wood Finishing Specialist – Stain, Spray & Custom Finish Work

Robert I. Merrill Co. (RimDoor) is looking for an experienced Wood Finisher to join and help grow our Wood Door finishing operations.

If you have experience with cabinet finishing, custom woodworking, furniture finishing, spraying, staining, lacquer, clear coats, veneer finishing, or custom color matching, we would love to talk with you.

You do not need previous commercial door experience. We are looking for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, understands wood finishes, and enjoys creating high-quality finished products.

What You’ll Do:

• Stain, seal, spray, and finish architectural wood doors
• Match custom colors and finish samples to meet customer specifications
• Finish wood veneer products and various wood species while maintaining consistency and quality standards
• Prepare surfaces through proper sanding, staining, sealing, and finishing processes
• Apply spray finishes including sealers, lacquer, clear coats, and topcoats
• Inspect finished products for quality and perform touch-ups as needed
• Help organize workflow and maintain standards within the finishing department

Experience We Are Looking For:

• Cabinet finishing, furniture finishing, or custom woodworking experience
• Experience staining and finishing wood veneer products (preferred)
• Knowledge of different wood species and how they accept stain and finishes
• Paint/stain shop experience
• Spray finishing experience including lacquer, sealers, clear coats, and topcoats
• Ability to match custom stain colors and finish samples
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality craftsmanship
