Robert I. Merrill Co. is looking to add a full-time Commercial Door Technician to our growing in-house installation team. This role involves a wide variety of field work, including installing and servicing commercial doors, frames, and hardware for both small and large-scale projects.
Responsibilities:
- Install, adjust, and service commercial doors, frames, and hardware
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with door functionality and hardware performance
- Replace existing doors, frames, and hardware as needed
- Perform both rough and finish installations, from single hardware swaps to complete openings
- Read and follow blueprints, work orders, and hardware schedules
- Maintain a clean and organized work area onsite
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
- Use mobile devices and computers to access job details, submit documentation, and communicate with the office
- Deliver high-quality workmanship and maintain a great attitude when working with customers and contractors
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience with commercial door and hardware installation preferred
- Familiarity with common hardware types (closers, panic devices, locks, hinges, etc.)
- Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy doors and materials
- Comfortable working on ladders and using power tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to doing the job right
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Basic knowledge of access control systems a plus
Position Details:
- Full-Time: 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday
